CACEO Committee to be established

Welcome to the inaugural edition of our new CACEO newsletter. In December we will establish a committee to work with the incoming Secretary of State - this transition committee will be made up of small, medium and large counties.

New Law Conference

CACEO will be holding its annual New Law conference in Sacramento (at the Sacramento Hyatt) on December 9-12, 2014. Details and agenda will be available soon.

Annual Conference Success

Nearly 200 CACEO members attended our annual conference in Orange County. 17 sessions were offered over a three day period providing training opportunities for all disciplines. 

CACEO Legislative Update

Seven bills supported by CACEO headed to Governor

The CACEO Legislative Committee will be meeting this Friday in Sacramento. Seven bills supported by CACEO were enrolled, including SB29, which will allow vote-by-mail ballots received no later than 3 days after election day to be counted.

Spirits High After Northern California Earthquake

Napa County Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk John Tuteur (pictured at left) with the assistance of his superb staff was able to open in an undamaged building on the 2nd business day after the 6.0 earthquake that closed the department’s regular office building. Napa County will conduct the November 4th General Election at their interim facility (pictured at left) where 60-day ballots are already being delivered.
